The new plastic packaging tax (PPT) will come into force on 1 April this year. The tax will impact the UK Label Industry as labels and backing carriers manufactured from plastic materials come under the scope of the tax. All UK companies who manufacture or import plastic packaging should carry out due diligence to establish their PPT tax status. The tax applies to all plastics that do not contain at least 30% recycled material.
