Waste, Recycling and Zero 2 Landfill

Waste, Recycling and Zero 2 Landfill

Waste, Recycling and Zero 2 Landfill

The project to recycle plastic matrix waste is underway and initial results show that a significant percentage of the material can potentially be processed for recycling. If successful, this will enable us to move this waste even further up the Waste Hierarchy, which is already 100% diverted from landfill through the scheme.

From their production facility in Leeds, OPM Group are helping us pioneer the project by supplying label waste to be processed, which is then issued to end markets for quality assessment. OPM have been scheme members for over 5 years and have diverted thousands of tonnes of waste from landfill in this time.

Interket Ltd have also provided matrix waste that is being treated through the Recycling Plant as part of the trials. Interket were one of the first converters to become a scheme member and helped us to pioneer the original concept, which now diverts 4 artic trailers of label waste from landfill per day.
