The label printing market continues to grow: the global market was valued at $36.98 billion in 2017 and is forecast to reach $45.22 billion by 2022.
This is driven in part by changing market dynamics and ever-evolving demands from label customers, with a growing number of SKUs, a dramatic reduction in average job lengths and life-cycles for mass-produced products and a significant increase of the regulatory content that is required on products. But it is also due – in part at least – to the fact that players in the label printing industry have been willing to embrace change and pioneer new printing and converting methods. The result in recent years has been an increasing number of label types and variety of labels in the industry.

Global market update from AWA Alexander Watson Associates
According to AWA Alexander Watson Associates' latest researches, pressure-sensitive labeling continues to represent a 40% share of the global labeling technologies market, while the old-established glue applied technology claims second place, with a 35% market share, and the sleeve labeling technologies now represent a solid 19% share - and are still growing.

From February 1st, FINAT have promoted the #LABELicious project actively on Instagram and Facebook. The targeted promotion is completely focused on the audience in the 18-25 year age bracket, and fitting the profiles (engineering, design, sustainability) that the label industry wants to reach.

Victor Watson Trophy – recognise someone who's excelled this year

Now in its fourth year, this Award was launched in memory of Victor Watson CBE DL to recognise a Young Person of Outstanding Achievement. It is open to any young person under the age of 31 at the time of the presentation, who is employed in the printing industry.
